Google Maps

For my lesson plan I would have the students create a map on Google maps that outlined the major battles of the Civil War in North Carolina. They would have to use the internet to research the battles and then figure out if the battle was fought on land or in the water and label using the Google Maps icons. They would also need to include a short description of the battle and who won the battle. I might have them take it one step further and add pictures and video clips that may go along with that particular battle if they can find them.
